Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Only specific information is that a block of at least 10 claims was staked in 1981 and active through at least 1982 (U. S. Bureau of Mines, 1980). The regional geology in the area as mapped by Brew (1997 [OF 97-156-E]) consists of Tertiary to Quaternary rhyolite, rhyodacite, and related siliceous extrusive and intrusive rocks. However, the rocks are poorly exposed and have not been not mapped in detail; the area probably includes a variety of rock of different ages and lithology.
