Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Native Cu, tenorite, cuprite, and minor amounts of other Cu minerals in irregular masses, thin veins, and disseminated grains in upper parts of amygdaloidal lava flows and, to a lesser extent, as fillings in amygdules or associated with quartz-epidote veins in Triassic Nikolai Greenstone. Deposit may be restricted to one 6 to 8 ft lava bed containing numerous amygdules. Most of copper fine-grained; copper masses to 27 kg have been recorded.

  • Workings / Exploration = Explored by about 100 m of underground workings in two tunnels and 3 levels. One sample assayed 70 ppm Ag, four samples ranged between 7 to 30 ppm Ag (MacKevett and Smith, 1968). Underground workings.
