Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Two Cu-bearing veins, each less than 1 m thick, in shear zones in Triassic Nikolai Greenstone about 150 ft below base of Chitistone Limestone and just north of major fault. Veins mainly bornite and chalcopyrite, and minor pyrite, pyrrhotite and secondary Cu and Fe minerals in a quartz-calcite-epidote gangue.

  • Workings / Exploration = Deposit known to natives in late 1800's. Developed in 1899 by open cuts and more than 100 m underground workings but little work since. Mostly inaccessible by 1943. Surface and underground workings.
