  • Geologic Description = Veinlike replacement lodes and cavity fillings forming discontinuous masses of chalcocite and other copper minerals up to 4 ft thick in lower part of Triassic Chitistone Limestone, near contact with underlying Triassic Nikolai Greenstone, which is separated from limestone by a thin bed of shale.

  • Production Notes = Reported to have produced about 1,500 tons of high-grade ore that contained about 1,200 pounds of copper and 10 ounces of silver per ton.

Comments on the workings information

  • Workings / Exploration = About 11,000 ft of drifts and crosscuts on 8 levels, 1,500 ft of inclines and 2,500 ft of raises, winzes and stopes. In 1943, 500 ft level and lower levels were flooded and considerable portions of 100 ft and 400 ft levels caved.
