  • Geologic Description = Bedrock is schist of Paleozoic and/or Precambrian(?) age (Eberlein and others, 1977, p. 24). Placer gold has been mined. Small scale suction dredge used in 1980. Years of known activity are 1924, 1938 to 1939, 1966, 1968 to 1972, and 1976 (Menzie and others, 1983, p. 51).
