Relative position This occurrence is at an elevation of about 100 feet, on the southwest side of the midpoint of the divide between Hassler Harbor and Cascade Inlet. The site is in section 9, T. 77 S., R. 93 E., of the Copper River Meridian. It corresponds to loc. 11 in Berg (1972 [I 684]), loc. 138 in Elliott and others (1978), and loc. 16 in Karl (1992). The location is accurate within a few hundred feet.

  • Geologic Description = The country rock at this site is Silurian trondhjemite that was regionally metamorphosed to greenschist grade in Late Cretacous time (Berg, 1972). The occurrence consists of chalcopyrite sparsely disseminated in sheared and sericitized trondhjemite (Berg, 1972, loc. 11).
