Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Miller and others (1980) reported anomalous thorium and uranium values from the Sischu Volcanics. Clautice and others (1993) report large sanadine crystals in felsic altered volcanic units in this area. The age of the mineral occurrence is inferred to be Early Tertiary, based on isotopic ages of Sischu Volcanics (Moll and others, 1981). Four grab samples collected by Miller and others (1980) contained from 28.0 to 70.3 ppm uranium and from 108 to 127 ppm thorium.
  • Age = Early Tertiary based isotopic ages from Sischu Volcanics (Moll and others, 1981).
