Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Reed and Elliott (1970) reported a 3-foot-wide quartz vein containing 10 percent arsenopyrite and lesser chalcopyrite, pyrite, and pyrrhotite in a shear zone cutting upper Mesozoic sedimentary rocks at this locality. In addition to base metal anomalies, samples contain up to 10 ppm silver and 0.1 ppm gold. This mineralized area is about a mile from a small Tertiary granitic intrusive.
  • Age = Tertiary Mineralization crosscuts Upper Mesozoic sedimentary rocks. Polymetallic mineralization in this region is commonly associated with Tertiary granitic rocks.
