Deposit WORKINGS CONFINED TO MOUTH OF DISAPPOINTMENT CREEK, WITH MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 300 FT.. GRAVELS CONTAINING GOLD IN ECONOMIC QUANTITIES WERE IRREGULARLY DISTRIBUTED. DEPOSITS NOT OVER 10-12 FT. DEEP TO BEDROCK, EXCEPT AT MOUTH OF CREEK, WHERE HOLES SUNK 35 FT. DEEP FAILED TO REACH BEDROCK. UPPER PORTION COMPOSED OF 2-3 FT. OF SOIL AND VEGETABLE MATTER. LOWER STRATUM OF GRAVEL CONTAINS GOLD. GRAVELS MOSTLY SMALL AND WELL-ROUNDED PEBBLES UP TO 8 IN. DIAMETER COBBLES.
