Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Small amount of cinnabar occurs in graywacke and shale bedrock behind Mellick's trading post. Cady and others (1955, plate 1) mapped two biotite basalt dikes less than 0.5 mile (1 km) south of locality; map also shows several small albite rhyolite intrusions.
