  • GOLD PRODUCED IN COMMERCIAL QUANTITIES AS EARLY AS 1899. MINING REPORTED FROM 3 MILES DOWNSTREAM FROM SQUAW GULCH CONFLUENCE TO HEAD. MINED BY SCRAPER IN 1910, 2 FEET OF BEDROCK TAKEN UP 3 MILES BELOW SQUAW GULCH. DREDGE OPERATED 1938 TO 1940 WITH SUCCESS 1 TO 4 MILES ABOVE SQUAW GULCH. SMALL SCALE MINING REPORTED NEAR HEAD IN 1912. MINED IN 1975 WITH BULLDOZER AND BY HYDRAULIC METHODS.
