Deposit THIS SITE NAME WAS CREATED BY THE REPORTER OR OTHER USGS EMPLOYEE BASED ON PROXIMITY TO SOME MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE.
Deposit LOW-GRADE MINERALIZED BELT IN SHEARED METASEDIMENTARY ROCKS PARALLEL TO A BIOTITE GRANITE INTRUSIVE CONTAINS AT LEAST 6 GOLD-SILVER LODES. BARRETT PROSPECT CONTAINS ARGENTIFEROUS GALENA, LIMONITE, AND MINOR AMOUNTS OF GOLD, HEMATITE, CHALCOPYRITE, CHALCOCITE, PYRRHOTITE, PYRITE, AND SECONDARY COPPER MINERALS, AND ERYTHRITE (PINK COBALT BLOOM). SURFACE ORE IS ESSENTIALLY VEINS OF GALENA AND POCKETS OF LIMONITE. NATIVE SILVER IN SMALL BALLS AT SURFACE OF LODE. NICKEL REPORTED IN PYRRHOTITE BEARING BASALT DIKE SOUTH OF BARRETT PROSPECT. SAMPLE FROM A DIKE THAT CUTS GRANITE CONTAINED MONAZITE. DIKES 3 IN. TO 4 FT. THICK CONTAIN AS MUCH AS 15% TOURMALINE.
