Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = A shaft was sunk 40 feet on a glassy quartz vein. The vein strikes N. 70 W. and dips 50 N. The bedrock is schist with a thin covering of placer gravel. The ground had been sluiced and it is possible that gold was from a placer rather than a lode deposit (Hill, 1933, p. 155).
