Relative position This mine is near the landing strip marked on the Fairbanks D-1 topographic map, but it may be a mile or more from it. The airstrip (not shown in the (D-1) NW map) is 1.8 miles up Steele Creek from about mile 4 on the Chena Hot Springs Road, in the NW1/4 sec. 14, T. 1 N., R. 1 E., Fairbanks Meridian. The exact location and extent of this deeply buried, frozen placer is uncertain.
