  • AT ONE PLACE THE PAY STREAK WAS UNDER THE EAST BANK OF THE STREAM FOR A SHORT DISTANCE, BUT THE DEPOSIT IS ON A LEVEL WITH THE STREAM AND DOES NOT INDICATE A TRUE BENCH DEPOSIT.

  • GOLD DISCOVERED BY NATIVE IN 1909. J.C. FELIX STRUCK PAY DIRT IN THE SUMMER OF 1910. FIRST MINING IN DISTRICT IN SUMMER, 1911. PLACER MINING FROM 1911 TO AS RECENTLY AS 1965. LARGE-SCALE MINING CEASED IN 1961.

Deposit GOLD BEARING DEPOSITS ARE ALMOST ENTIRELY IN THE IMMEDIATE BED OF THE STREAM. THE AURIFEROUS GRAVELS ARE 2-6 FEET DEEP AND HAVE AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 50 FEET.
Deposit STREAM GRADIENT APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET PER MILE. THE BOULDERS THAT MAKE UP MOST OF THE DEPOSITS ARE A HINDERANCE TO ECONOMIC MINING. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN MINING ALONG SNYDER CR., ON UNMARKED HEADWATER TRIBUTARY. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
