Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOLOGICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL WORK INDICATES THAT CHROMIUM, COPPER, NICKEL, AND PLATINUM-GROUP METALS ARE PRESENT AT ASIK MOUNTAIN. THE STRUCTURE IS COMPLEX, BUT GENERALLY IT APPEARS THAT THE LAYERED PLUTON HAS INTRUDED CARBONATE ROCKS OF POSSIBLE DEVONIAN AGE. THE CONTACT APPEARS TO BE NEARLY CONFORMABLE, INDICATING THAT THE INTRUSIVE MAY BE SILL-LIKE.
