Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = MacKevett and Holloway (1977) report talc (soapstone) associated with serpentinite. The serpentinite is part of the serpentinized Late Cretaceous ultramafic rocks of the area. The serpentinite is located in a shear zone that also cuts Jurassic (?) quartz-albite-chlorite (+/- garnet-biotite) pelitic schist.
  • Age = Late Cretaceous or younger; talc occurs in Late Cretaceous ultramafic rocks.
