Comments on the geologic information

  • THE SCHEELITE-BEARING SKARN DEPOSITS ARE SMALL WITH BROWN GARNET AND EPIDOTE FORMING STREAKS 1 TO 12 INCHES WIDE IN POORLY EXPOSED PODS OF SEDIMENTARY ROCKS IN GRANITE. VERY LITTLE SCHEELITE IS VISIBLE. THE DEPOSITS OCCUR FROM THE BASE TO THE TOP OF THE RIDGE, AND FOR A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 2 MILES ALONG THE RIDGE.

Deposit THIS RECORD HAS BEEN MERGED WITH M242821, WHICH HAS BEEN DELETED. THESE PROSPECTS ARE OFTEN CONFUSED WITH SAGE HEN MINE (OR HILLTOP MINE), WHICH ARE LOCATED ABOVE THE PROSPECTS ON RIDGE CREST. UTM COORDINATES ARE FROM STAGER AND TINGLEY (1988).
Deposit SCATTERED TACTITE OUTCROPS WITH SCHEELITE CRYSTALS UP TO 2 INCHES LONG ALONG REMNANT BEDDING PLANES AND CRACKS IN THE TACTITE. ROOF PENDANTS OF LIMESTONE IN THE GRANITIC INTRUSIVE UP TO HUNDEREDS OF FEET LONG, CUT BY MONZONITE DIKES. PARTS OF THE MONZONITE ARE PROMINENTLY SHEETED IN PLATES 2-6 FT THICK.
