Comments on the location information

  • POINT LOCATION GIVEN IS FOR CENTER OF AREA IN SECTION 1 .
  • Political location in record is Beaverhead county, MT. The MRDS location-problem GIS test found lat/long plots in Clark county, ID. However, Google Earth shows it just inside Beaverhead county, though not at the center of PLSS section 1 as is stated in location comments. The Centennial/Ruby phosphte deposit covers a large area on the border between MT and ID. This record was developed using a MT reference, but should be consolidated with the other Centennial/Ruby phosphate records. In the meantime, in order to pass the location-problem test, the point was moved 2 seconds north. Original coordinates for line#1 were: lat/long NAD27 44-33-30N 111-40-0W (44.55833 -111.66667); UTM N<blank> E<blank> Z<blank>; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 015S, RNG 001W, Sect 01, Sect_fract <blank>.
