| Deposit | THE DEPOSIT IS IN A FAULT BRECCIA IN QUARTZITIC SANDSTONES WHICH DIP GENERALLY NE FROM 15 TO 35 DEGREES. THE FAULT IS NEARLY VERTICAL AND STRIKES NORTH AT THE SOUTHERN END OF THE DEPOSIT AND NW AT THE NORTHERN END. THE ORE IS A DENSE CRYSTALLINE AGGREGATE OF FLUORITE, BARITE, QUARTZ, AND CALCITE. THE GROUNDMASS IS FINELY CRYSTALLINE BLUE OR PURPLE FLUORITE, THROUGH WHICH ARE SCATTERED SHORT LATHS AND WEATHERED MASSES OF LIGHT PINK BARITE AND CLUSTERS OF MEDIUM-GRAINED GREEN FLUORITE. NEAR THE MARGINS OF THE VEIN TINY CRYSTALS OF PYRITE AND LIMONITE PSEUDOMORPHS ARE COMMON. MINUTE CRYSTALS OF BASTNASITE OCCASIONALLY OCCUR. |
| Deposit | THIS DEPOSIT APPEARS TO BE ALMOST AS LARGE AS THE OLD HICKORY MINE, WHICH IS THE LARGEST IN THE GALLINAS MINING DISTRICT. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT |
