| Deposit | DEPOSIT IS ASSOCIATED WITH CIMARRON VOLCANO, LYING NORTH OF AND PREDATING FORMATION OF SAN JUAN-UNCOMPAHGRE AND LAKE CITY CALDERAS. WIDESPREAD SEQUENCE OF INTERMEDIATE-COMPOSITION (ANDESITE, RHYODACITE) CONE BRECCIAS INTERBEDDED WITH PORPHYRYTIC ANDESITE, RHYODACITE, AND QUARTZ LATITE FLOWS AND FLOW BRECCIAS IS CUT BY INTRUSIVE ROCKS OF CORE OF CIMARRON VOLCANO. ON SOUTH SIDE OF SILVER CREEK IS SMALL MONZONITE/MONZONITE PORPHYRY PLUG FROM WHICH RADIATE SEVERAL ANDESITE/RHYODACITE PORPHYRY DIKES. WORKINGS ON NORTH SIDE OF CREEK APPARENTLY DEVELOPED IN PROMINENT NORTH-SOUTH-TRENDING DIKE. CDM REPORTS CITE VEIN WIDTHS OF 2 TO 25 FT ON SURFACE AND 2 TO 5 FT UNDERGROUND. |
