Comments on the geologic information

  • WALLROCKS ARE HIGHLY DEFORMED AND ALTERED. LIMESTONES ARE DARK GRAY TO BLACK, DOLOMITIC AND SILICIFIED. SHALES ARE GREENISH GRAY TO BLACK, PULVERIZED, CARBONACEOUS, KAOLINITIC, SERICITIC AND SILICEOUS. EFFECTS OF LIMONITIZATION ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT ON HOSTROCKS. VEINS OF JASPEROID, QUARTZ, AND CALCITE HAVE IMPREGNATED THE WALLROCKS.

Deposit ORE ZONES ARE LOCALIZED IN FISSURES WITH QUARTZ FILLINGS, IN DEFORMED AND HIGHLY ALTERED WALLROCKS; ORE IS EXTREMELY OXIDIZED; ORE BODY DIPS DUE NE.
Deposit MINERALIZED ZONE LIES JUST BELOW THE LONG TRAIL SHALE MEMBER, IN THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONES, ON THE EASTERN FLANK OF THE OPHIR ANTICLINE. THE ORE DEPOSIT OCCURS IN OR CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE JASPEROID. THE JASPEROID LIES IMMEDIATELY BENEATH A SILL OF 'BIRD EYE PORPHYRY; THE ORE FOLLOWED VERY IRREGULAR, GENERALLY NORTH-EASTERLY FISSURES IN THE JASPEROID. THE ORE IS PRACTICALLY ALL OXIDIZED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
