  • THE SANDSTONE IS WHITE AND FINE-GRAIN. AT THE SOUTH THOMPSON MINE, THE SANDSTONE CONTAINS 1/8 TO 1/2 INCH CLAY GALLS. AT THE COBB MINE, THE SANDSTONE CONTAINS GREEN TO GRAY CLAY GALLS AND BALLS UP TO ONE FOOT THICK. AT THE NICHOLS MINE, THE SILVER ORE OCCURS IN HIGHLY SLICKENSLIDED FRACTURES OF A "SOAPSTONE" BED. IN THE NEWTON MINE, FOUR FEET ABOVE THE SILVER BEARING ZONE IS A 2 - 5 FEET BED OF MALACHITE - AZURITE PLANT REPLACEMENTS.
