  • THE BUTTE IS CAPPED BY FLOWERPOT SHALE. THE HAYSTACK GYPSUM WAS ERODED. AN ADDITIONAL 9 FT OF UPPER FLOWERPOT WAS PROBABLY ERODED ALSO. THE 0.3 DOLOMITE IS ABOUT 102 FT BELOW THE TOP OF THE BUTTE, AND ABOUT 68 FT BELOW THE CHANEY GYPSUM. THE MALACHITE CONCRETIONS OCCUR AT THE BASE OF THE DOLOMITE.
