  • ZONE "N" OF THE GLEN MOUNTAINS LAYERED COMPLEX IS IN THE S. TWO-THIRDS OF SEC. 16. MOUNT SCOTT GRANITE IS IN THE N. ONE-THIRD OF SEC. 16. THE DIKE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GREENSTONE, 2.5 FT THICK, IN GRANITE, WITH QUARTZ, GALENA, AND CHALCOPYRITE, WITH 3.63% PB AND 0.92 OZ OF AG PER TON OF ROCK. WOODRUFF (1904, P. 29) MENTIONS THAT THIS WAS 6 MI E. OF OREANA AND WAS FILLED WITH WATER TO WITHIN 15 FT OF THE TOP. WILSON (1980, P. 13) SAID THAT IT WAS ON PANTHER CREEK. GILBERT (1982A, P. 12, FIG. 7) MAPPED N ZONE OF GLEN MOUNTAINS LAYERED COMPLEX IN THIS AREA. ALSO GILBERT (1982B, P. 131, MAP, FIG. 137) SHOWS DETAILS IN SEC. 17.

  • BAIN (1904, P. 87) DID NOT BELIEVE IT WAS WORTH DEVELOPMENT. WOODRUFF (1904, P. 29) SAID THAT THE PROSPECT WAS FILLED WITH WATER TO 15 FT. WILSON (1980, P. 13) SAID THAT THE MINE SOLD FOR $25,000 AND WAS NEAR PANTHER CREEK.

Deposit IN MUCH OF SEC. 16 IS POST OAK CONGLOMERATE. THIS WOULD PROBABLY BE WEATHERED INTO THE CONGLOMERATE AT SOME PLACE AND INCORPORATED INTO THE HENNESSEY GROUP.
Deposit LOCATED NW OF GEM AND DIAMOND PROSPECTS BY BAIN (1904, P. 87). GEM WAS IN SEC. 16 3N-14W. DIAMOND WAS 300 FT E. OF GEM. GALENA WAS NW OF GEM AND DIAMOND. LOCATION UNKNOWN, SO C. OF SEC. 16 IS GIVEN AS COORDINATES. WOODRUFF (1904, P. 29) SAID IT WAS 6 MI E. OF OREANA.
