Comments on the location information

  • THE DIALLAGE GABBRO XENOLITH IS ERODED INTO A VALLEY IN LUGERT GRANITE PORPHYRY AND STRIKES NNE. SMALL GRANITE VEINS HAVE INTRUDED THE GABBRO, AND POSSIBLY PYRITE AND OTHER MINERALS WERE FOUND IN THE CONTACT ZONES. RYAN (1936) GAVE THIS LOCATION AS NE-SW-SW-NW. THE PIT WAS 40 FT DEEP AND SUNK BY J. HARVEY. RYAN FOUND NO VALUES.

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE LUGERT GRANITE INTRUDED THE REFORMATORY GRANITE AND PICKED UP PART OF A GABBRO XENOLITH THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY PICKED UP BY THE REFORMATORY GRANITE. PROBABLY HYDROTHERMAL VEINS OF THE REFORMATORY AND LUGERT GRANITES INTRUDED INTO THE GABBRO XENOLITH, AND POSSIBLY PYRITE AND OTHER MINERALS WERE FORMED IN THE VEINS. POLK (1948) AND MERRITT (1958) DISCUSS GEOLOGY.
