Comments on the location information

  • GILBERT (1960, MAP) LOCATED A MINE IN C-NW-NE-NE-SW OF SEC. 21, AT ELEVATION 1510 FT, WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT 440 FT SW OF THE BABY MINE OF MATTHEWS. THE ROCK IS MIXED GRANITE AND MICRODIORITE INTRUSIVES IN GLEN MOUNTAINS LAYERED COMPLEX. WALPER (1949, 1951) SHOWS GEOLOGY OF AREA. [RYAN (1936, SHEET KR-9) LOCATED ANOTHER "BABY" PROSPECT IN THE NE-SE-SE-NE-SEC. 20-4N-17W, SUNK TO 125 FT IN 1905 BY FORT WORTH INTERESTS. IT WAS IN A DIABASE DIKE WITH QUARTZ STRINGERS. THIS WOULD BE ABOUT 0.5 MI W. OF THE ABOVE "BABY" PROSPECT. NO ATTRACTIVE MINERALS WERE FOUND.]
