Comments on the location information

  • IN HARRIS SUBDIVISION OF CLUB RANCH BLOCK. COPPER MINERALS WITH HEMATITE AND CARNOTITE WERE REPORTED BY BLAIR AND OTHERS (1973, P. 11), CAPPING THE BUTTE. SCHMITZ (1897, P. 107-108) ALSO MENTIONED THAT HE FOUND COPPER MINERALS ALONG THE BLUFFS IN SHALE AND CONGLOMERATE, ALONG THE OLD ROAD FOR A MILE OR MORE SW OF ARCHER CITY, BETWEEN ARCHER CITY AND SPRING MOUNTAIN. SPRING MOUNTAIN IS ABOUT 2.5 MI SW OF ARCHER CITY AND ABOUT 0.7 MI SE OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED BUTTE. PROBABLY THE OLD ROAD FOLLOWED THROUGH THE BUTTE COUNTRY.
