Deposit HALE (1972, P. 59-60) AND HALE (1977, P. 161, 208) MENTIONED THAT COPPER WAS FOUND ON MR. INGRAM'S PLACE (A SHEEPMAN) ON THE W. SIDE OF LYTLE COVE, ABOUT 10 MI SSE OF ABILENE. HALE QUOTED ARTICLES IN THE TAYLOR COUNTY NEWS (OCT. 22, 1886, P. 8; NOV. 12, 1886, P. 4). THE W. SIDE WOULD BE ABOUT 1.5 MI E. OF BEAR COVE. IT IS POSSIBLY IN THE NE-NE-NE-SEC. 6, BLK 1, SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY SURVEY, WHERE THERE IS ABOUT 100 FT OF RELIEF IN THE BLUFF BELOW THE ANTLERS SANDSTONE. THIS IS THE NORTHWESTERNMOST TIP OF LYTLE COVE.
Deposit THE COPPER COULD OCCUR OVER A WIDER AREA.
Deposit Discovery Year: 1886 OR BEFORE
