  • THE SODIUM SULFATE GRADE AVERAGES 9.3% BASED ON PRELIMINARY ASSAYS. THE TALTAL RESERVES CONTAIN 40,500 T IODINE AND ENOUGH SODIUM NITRATE TO PRODUCE 13.3 MT OF POTASSIUM NITRATE.

  • PROPERTY WAS EXTENSIVELY SAMPLED DURING 1989. ; TOTAL$: 60 ; DEV$: 47 ; ECON.COM: THE SODIUM SULFATE WOULD BE RECOVERED AS A BYPRODUCT OF THE HEAP LEACHING OF THE NITRATE-IODINE ORE. ASSUMMING A PRICE OF $100 PER TONNE, THE SODIUM SULFATE IN THE DEPOSIT HAS A VALUE OF $186M. THE IODINE AND NITRATE CONTENTS OF THE DEPOSIT ARE VALUED AT $920M. DEVELOPMENT COST IS FOR TALTAL IODINE PROJECT (YOLANDA PLUS YUMBES DEPOSITS) AND INCLUDES $17 MILLION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PORT FACILITIES AT TALTAL.

Deposit DEPOSIT COVERS 26 SQ KM. THE NITRATE AND IODINE ARE CONTAINED IN "CALICHE". YUMBES IS HIGHER GRADE THAN YOLANDA AND HAS HIGH GRADE RESERVES SUFFICIENT FOR 14 YEARS OF PRODUCTION. YUMBES AND YOLANDA HAVE LOWER GRADE RESERVES WHICH CAN BE MINED AT A LATER TIME.
