Deposit THE CELESTITE BED(S) ARE HOSTED BY LIMESTONE. THE CELESTITE BEDS CONTAIN BLOCKS OF LIMESTONE THAT HAS BEEN RECRYSTALIZED AROUND THEIR EDGES. THE BLOCKS OF LIMESTONE, CHERT NODULES, AND PRESERVED CROSSBEDDING ARE CONSIDERED TO BE EVIDENCE OF A REPLACEMENT PROCESS. ALL THE FAULTS IN THE AREA ARE POST ORE. THE BERMEJILLO NORTH DEPOSIT IS VIRTUALLY MONOMINERALIC CELESTITE. THE CELESTITE OCCURS AS ELONGATE, INTERGROWN BLADES AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES LONG.
