  • THE COVER IN THE NAVARRA BASIN IS LESS THAN IN THE CATALAN BASIN, BUT EROSION HAS REMOVED MUCH OF THE SALINE UNITS. THE STRATIGRAPHY FROM THE BASE OF THE ORE-BEARING SECTION: 12 M SALT; ANHYDRITE WITH MARL; BED A SYLVANITE (AVE. 2 M THICK), SALT, AND MARL; BED B SYLVANITE (<1 M THICK) WITH SALT CONTAINING 2 LAYERS OF SYLVANITE; BED C CARNALLITE (8 LAYERS, 0.5-2.5 M) WITH SALT AND MARL; 50 M SALT AND MARL.
