Deposit THE DEPOSIT IS IN THE LOWER THIRD OF THE SIJES FM AND OCCURS OVER A STRATIGRAPHIC INTERVAL OF 137 M. THE HYDROBORACITE IS WHITISH YELLOW AND RESISTANT TO EROSION. THE GANGUE IS LARGELY TUFFACEOUS. INDIVIDUAL BEDS OF HYDROBORACITE ARE UP TO 2 M THICK (WHERE TECTONICALLY THICKENED). THE BASIN IS ZONED LATERALLY FROM HYDROBORACITE IN/NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE BASIN TO HYDROBORACITE + GYPSUM, TO GYPSUM + HYDROBORACITE, TO CLASTIC SEDIMENTS AT THE PERIPHERY. ALONSO ESTIMATES THAT THE B-MINERALIZING PULSE LASTED 600,000 YEARS.
