General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit BORAX OCCURS AS SMALL IRREGULAR MASSES AND MILLIMETER SIZE CRYSTALS IN A LIGHT BROWN CLAY LAYER (20 CM THICK) BELOW A THIN SALINE CRUST. NASO IS ASSOCIATED WITH BORATE. WHERE THE FLAT IS COMPLETELY DRY, THE ULEXITE OCCURS RATHER THAN BORAX. TRAVERTINE BEDS IN THE VICINITY INDICATE PAST THERMAL ACTIVITY.
Deposit THIS SITE IS OF NO ECONOMIC INTEREST (ALONSO, 1986).
