  • METAMORPHISM; BRUN + PLML + CPML + HLDT + PRLS + JCBS + BXBT + HSMN + MNGN + VREDENBURGITE; MANGANESE OXIDES OCCUR HERE IN A BELT MEASURING 200 KM IN LENGTH AND 25 KM IN WIDTH. THE BULK OF THE PRODUCTION AND RESERVES IS CONTAINED IN ONLY 20 DEPOSITS. THE MN DEPOSITS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH METAMORPHOSED PELITIC SEDIMENTS.
  • ; PRLS + MNGN + PLML + FE OXIDES + POLYPERMANGANITE; CLCT + RDCR + MANGANOCALCITE; THE ORE-BEARING FORMATION HERE IS 92% CARBONATE AND 8% OXIDE. THE SOUTH UKRAINIAN OLIGOCENE MANGANIFEROUS BASIN COVERS UP TO 6250 SQ KM.

MINERAL RESOURCE CATEGORIES AND CODES HEREIN ARE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM RECOMMENDED BY THE UNITED NATIONS GROUP OF EXPERTS ON DEFINITIONS AND TERMINOLOGY FOR MINERAL RESOURCES. (SEE NATIONAL RESOURCES FORUM, V. 4, NO. 3, P. 307-313.). SURFACE-UNDERGROUND BALAGHAT HAS AN ANNUAL PRODUCTION OF ABOUT 75,000 MT ORE.
