Comments on the geologic information

  • FOLDING; PYTT + PNLD + MGNT + CLCP; THE PIKWE ORE BODY IS A METAMORPHOSED AND DEFORMED STRATA-BOUND SULFIDE DEPOSIT OCCURRING AS A CONCORDANT SILL-LIK-E BODY WITHIN GNEISSIC COUNTRY ROCKS. OVER MOST OF ITS EXTENT- IT IS ASSOCIATED WITH AMPHIBOLITE HOST ROCKS UP TO 50 M THICK-. POLYPHASE DEFORMATION PRODUCED A SEQUENCE OF ORE TEXTURES (-BRECCIATED SULFIDES, FOLIATED SULFIDES) BUT HAS LARGELY MAINTA-INED ITS PRETECTONIC MORPHOLOGY DESPITE ITS COMPLEX STRUCTURAL- HISTORY. THE PIKWE ORE BODY IS THE LARGEST OF THE THREE SELE-BI-PIKWE DEPOSITS: PIKWE, SELEBI, AND SELEBI NORTH. THE THRE-E DEPOSITS ARE ALL GENETICALLY RELATED AND MAY REPRESENT THE S-AME ORE HORIZON THAT IS EXPOSED IN THREE STRUCTURAL LEVELS.
