STRATIGRAPHIC SEQUENCE OF LCRET (FROM TOP TO BOTTOM): - GHAREB FORMATION, MAESTRICHTIAN, MARLS, BITUMINOUS AND CHALK, - MISHASH FORMATION, CAMPANIEN, SUBDIVIDED IN A LOWER CHERT UNIT (ABOUT 30 M THICK) AND AN UPPER PHOSPHORITE UNIT (UP TO 40 M THICK). WITHIN THE PHOSPHORITE UNIT UP TO 5 PHOSPHATE BEDS (NUMBERED 0-4) CAN BE RECOGNIZED; - MENUHA FORMATION, SANTONIAN, CHALK. PHOSPHORITE UNIT IN ORON IS ABOUT 10 M THICK AND CONTAINS 3 PHOSPHATE BEDS EACH 1-2 M THICK GRADING 61 %, 55 % AND 63 % BPL. SEDIMENTS ARE FOLDED; NE STRIKING ORON SYNCLINE BETWEEN HATHIRA ANTICLINE (NW) AND HATSERA ANTICLINE (SE). PHOSPHATES HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED OVER A STRIKING LENGTH OF 23 KM.
