  • ; HMTT, LMON (GTHT), MGNT, SDRT, CMST; THE OOLITIC IRONSTONE LAYER OCCURS IN A EW DIRECTION OVER A DISTANCE OF 100KM. IT HAS A WIDTH OF 2 TO 8 KM. THE ORE OCCURS IN LENSES AND LAYERS WITH A THICKNESS OF 4 TO 15M. LISAKOVSK AND AYAT ARE COLLECTIVELY KNOWN AS KUSTANAY.
  • ; ILMN + ZRCN + MNZT + RUTL + ANTS (+ QRTZ); MESOZOIC GRANITE IS THE LIKELY SOURCE ROCK. IN MANY PLACES THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF SEVERAL, ROUGHLY PARALLEL STRANDS. IT IS TYPICALLY 8-10 M DEEP BUT MAY BE UP TO 30 M DEEP. THE SANDS CONTAIN 1-2% HEAVY MINERALS BY WEIGHT (98-99% ILMN, REST - RUTL OR ANATASE).

  • 10 000 TONS/YEAR ILMENITE GRADING 50-51% TIO2. 25%DUE TO LACK OF DEMAND ILMENITE PRODUCTION HAS DROPPED IN RECENT YEARS. MAXIMUM PRODUCTION IN THE PAST: 16 000 TPA ILMENITE AND 70 TPA RUTILE. PC1 ASSUMES 17 YEARS AT 13 000 TPA ILMENITE PC2 ASSUMES 17 YEARS AT 55 TPA RUTILE.

THE PHOSPHOROUS-HIGH BROWN IRONSTONES OF AYAT AND LISAKOVSK, KNOWN COLLECTIVELY AS THE KUSTANAY DEPOSITS, WILL PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THE EXPANDED PRODUCTION OF VANADIUM IN THE USSR.
