  • MINED BY HYDRAULIC METHODS FOR IRON 1899-1909; TENN. ZINC AND LEAD CO. MINED ZINC 1913-(?); 25 DRILL HOLES ENCOUNTERED 2-3% ZN; BEDROCK MINING OF LEAD ATTEMPTED; 1917 COMPANY CEASED OPERATION. PROPERTY LATER ACQUIRED BY EMBREE IRON CO. WHICH IN 1943 CONDUCTED EXPLORATION FOR ZINC SULPHIDES. OLD SHAFT REOPENED AND 15 CHURN DRILL HOLES WERE SUNK.
