  • OPEN FOR IRON DURING PERIOD OF HYDRAULIC MINING (1899-1909). ABOUT 1914 OXIDIZED ZINC MINED IN OPEN CUT. DEEPER ORE DISCOVERED BY DRILLING. 3 ADITS DRIVEN BETWEEN 1914-1918 AND AGAIN FROM 1922-1924 ORE MINED FROM COMPLICATED SYSTEM OF UNDERGROUND WORKINGS. DRILLING IN 1926-1927 PROVED ORE SOUTHWEST OF PREVIOUS WORKINGS. SHAFT SUNK AND OLD UNDERGROUND WORKINGS EXTENDED. THE EXTENSION (DRYBRANCH OR NO. 15 MINE OPERATED FROM 1928-1933. ALL WORKINGS NOW CAVED. 1942 CHURN DRILLING IN AREA TO BLOCK OUT SULPHIDE ORE. ATTEMPT WAS ABANDONED.
