Deposit SECRIST (1924) NOTES THAT ORE IS CONFINED TO THE UPPER 20 FEET OF LIMESTONE AND LOWER 2 FEET OF OVERLYING SHALE. FRACTURING AND BRECCIATION CHARACTERIZES THE MINERALIZED ZONE. BRECCIATION DIMINISHES DOWNWARD AND GRADES INTO UNDISTURBED, UNMINERALIZED BEDROCK. SPHALERITE OCCURS AS FINELY DISSEMINATED GRAINS IN THE DOLOMITE AND SHALE OR IN THE BRECCIA MATRIX. SMALL AMOUNT OF CHALCOPYRITE AS DISSEMINATED GRAINS AND VEINLETS IN THE COARSELY CRYSTALLINE DOLOMITE, OCCURS THROUGHOUT THE MINERALIZED PART OF THE BEDROCK. A THIN BED OF OVERLYING SHALE IS IMPREGNATED WITH GALENA. THE ROCK IS ONLY SLIGHTLY BRECCIATED AT THE SMALLER CUT 150 FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST, AND ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF DISSEMINATED SPHALERITE IS PRESENT. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
