  • METASEDIMENTARY ROCKS STRIKE N 55 E AND FORM THE HEADWALL AND WEST SIDE OF THE CUT. THE PEGMATITE SHOWS A VERY THIN BORDER ZONE, AN INDISTINCT 2-FOOT THICK WALL ZONE OF KAOLINIZED PLAGIOCLASE AND QUARTZ, AND A PLAGIOCLASE-QUARTZ-PERTHITE CORE. THE CORE INCLUDES GRAPHIC INTERGROWTHS OF FELDSPAR AND QUARTZ, AND MINOR AMOUNTS OF BIOTITE AND MUSCOVITE AS SMALL BOOKS AND FLAKES.

  • PROSPECT CONSISTS OF A SMALL PIT AND A CUT 64 FEET LONG, 25 TO 50 FEET WIDE, AND 37 FEET MAXIMUM DEPTH. SOUTHERN PART OF PEGMATITE AND SOUTH CONTACT WITH WALL ROCKS ARE UNEXPOSED.

  • PROSPECT WAS PROBABLY DEVELOPED DURING SEARCH FOR KAOLIN IN THE PERIOD 1910 TO 1915.
