Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE WHITE, FINE-GRAINED, DOLOMITIC MARBLE ZONE WHICH LOCALLY CONTAINS TALC DEPOSITS IS AT THE APPROXIMATE STRATIGRAPHIC CENTER OF THE FORMATION (VAN HORN, 1948). ALTHOUGH THE PROSPECT IS WITHIN THE OUTCROP BELT OF THE MURPHY MARBLE, IT IS LOCATED NEAR THE BASE OF THE FORMATION AND CONSEQUENTLY TOO LOW TO INTERCEPT THE TALC-BEARING ZONE. THE LOCATION IS NEAR THE NORTHEASTERN TERMINUS OF THE MARBLE BELT.
