  • COUNTRY ROCK IS A BLEACHED, SHEARED, IRON-STAINED, FELSIC VOLCANIC ROCK. THE FOLIATION STRIKES N 40 DEG E AND DIPS 70 DEG NW. MOST OF THE COUNTRY ROCK IS ALTERED TO SERICITE, CLAY MINERALS AND QUARTZ. THE COUNTRY ROCK CONTAINS MINOR RECTANGULAR VUGS WHICH MAY HAVE FORMED FROM THE WEATHERING OF FELDSPAR CRYSTALS. LONG THIN BLEBS OF OCHER HEMATITE IN THE ROCK MAY BE FROM SPECULARITE. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF GOLD.
