Deposit PLACERS IN EAST DRAINING STREAMS OF SANTA RITA MTNS. ORE IS FOUND IN PRESENT GULCH GRAVELS AND IN GRAVELS ON HILLSIDES AND RIDGETOPS BETWEEN GULCHES. GOLD IS LARGELY IN THE LOWER 2 FEET OF ANGULAR GRAVEL OVERLYING BEDROCK. SOURCE OF GOLD IS BELIEVED TO BE FREE GOLD-BEARING VEINS ASSOCIATED WITH QUARTZ LATITE PORPHYRY.
