Comments on the geologic information

  • MOST FEEL THAT THE GOLD IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS OF AN OLD PEDIMENT GRAVEL, SOME FEEL THAT THE GOLD WAS DERIVED DIRECTLY FROM NEARBY QUARTZ FISSURE VEINS.
  • MUCH OF THE MUSCOVITE AND FELDSPAR IN THE SCHIST APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED DURING EMPLACEMENT OF THE PEGMATITE. THE COUNTRY ROCK GRADES INTO MORE MASSIVE QUARTZ-BIOTITE-AMPHIBOLE SCHIST, AWAY FROM THE PEGMATITE CONTACTS. THE MICA-IMPREGNATED SCHIST LOCALLY IS CRENULATED AND PLICATED. INCLUSIONS AND SEPTA ARE ABUNDANT IN THIS SCHIST, ALONG THE NORTHWEST MARGIN OF THE MAIN DIKE.

Deposit PLACERS ON TOP OF RICH HILL AND WITHIN ANTELOPE AND WEAVER CREEKS
Deposit ANOTHER SMALLER DIKE LIES TO THE NW, IT IS 100 FEET LONG AND 60 FEET WIDE. THE MAIN PEGMATITE COMPRISES FIVE WELL DEFINED ZONES. (1) A DISCONTINUOUS OUTER SELVAGE OF QUARTZ, ALBITE, MUSCOVITE, AND SCHORL, ALSO MICA. (2) THE WALL ZONE ( 2 TO 55 FEET THICK ) OF PERTHITE, QUARTZ, ALBITE, AND MUSCOVITE IS MOSTLY COARSE GRAINED. (3) THE OUTER INTERMEDIATE ZONE IS COARSE GRAINED BLOCKY PERTHITE. TOURMALINE IS LOCALLY ABUNDANT. (4) THE INNER INTERMEDIATE ZONE HAS VERY COARSE PERTHITE AND MASSES OF QUARTZ. (5) THE CORE IS ARBITRARILY DESIGNATED AS HIGHER GRADE FELDSPAR THAN THE PREVIOUS ZONE.
