Comments on the production information

  • NO PRODUCTION. IT IS DOUBTFUL IF MORE THAN 5 TONS OF ORE AVERAGING 30-35 PERCENT MANGANESE CAN BE FOUND ON THE PROPERTY. THE PROSPECT IS 1 MILE FROM ALTAMONT, ON THE WESTERN PACIFIC RR. THE SURFACE OF THE ORE CONSISTS OF TINY RADIATING NEEDLES OF WELL CRYSTALLIZED PYROLUSITE. HALF A MILE E OF THE MAIN OCCURENCE OF THE PEBBLES IS A BED OF LIMESTONE AND SHALY LIMESTONE CONGLOMERATE AMONG THE PEBBLES OF WHICH ARE A FEW PEBBLES OF WHITE CHERT AND MANGANESE OXIDE AND MAY BE THE SOURCE OF THE PEBBLES FARTHER WEST. MANNER OF OCCURRENCE INDICATES THE PROSPECT HAS LITTLE ECONOMIC VALUE.
