Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: HILL COVERED WITH AGATE AND OPAL - VEINS FOUND RANGE IN WIDTH FROM VERY NARROW TO 2 INCHES THICK, NEAR THE SURFACE, THICKER UNDERGROUND. SOME OF THE AGATE LOOKS BLUE BUT APPEARS CLEAR WHEN CUT THIN; MOSS AGATE WITH WHITE SPRAYS REPORTEDLY HAS BEEN FOUND. OPAL IS COMMON BUT PROBABLY OF GOOD GRADE AS VEINS GET DEEPER. OPEN TO ROCKHOUNDS FOR FEE OF $1 PER PERSON
