  • GEOL.DESC: FIRST WORKED AS HYDRAULIC MINE (JUPITER) THEN AS DRIFT MINE (SAN DOMINGO). GRAVEL IS SLIGHTLY CEMENTED AND CONTAINS SOME BOULDERS; ROUGH SLATE BEDROCK. FROM 18" TO 2' OF BEDROCK IS MINED AND TREATED IN THE WASHING PLANT. THE CHANNEL IS STEEP-SIDED AND 125' WIDE.
