  • GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE-STAINED METACHERT CROPS OUT AT INTERVALS FOR A DISTANCE OF 300-350' ALONG THE STRIKE, N. 60 DEG. E. OXIDATION HAS EXTENDED FOR AT LEAST 4 OR 5' BELOW THE SURFACE. NO GARNET SEEN HERE BUT THE CRUMBLY BROWNISH-BLACK TO BLACK OXIDE INDICATES ITS PRESENCE. MATERIAL IS LOW GRADE AND OF NO ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE. SAMPLES ASSAYING 54% MN OXIDE SAID TO HAVE BEEN OBTAINED HERE; NO MORE THAN 10 TO 12 TONS OF SUCH MATERIAL COULD BE OBTAINED. NO DEVELOPMENT HAS BEEN DONE.
